I have received a phone call from my GP surgery today to tell me that they are referring me back to a specialist. This specialist will then decide if I really need Liothyronine. I have always had to fight tooth and nail to be referred in the past and it was a battle to have Liothyronine prescribed. I feel so stressed - I appreciate that I have been lucky - is there anything that I can do?

Because the NHS are trying to de-prescribe liothyronine due to cost. Your GP is following the proper procedure, rather than stopping your prescription you are being referred to an endo who will decide if you can continue with it. It would be a good idea to prepare some evidence to present your case as to why you need to stay on liothyronine - old blood tests from the past showing poor conversion of T4 to T3 without liothyronine perhaps, symptom list of before and after adding it, or whatever evidence you have,
