Low B12 is extremely common when hypothyroid

Low B12 can cause urinary incontinence

b12deficiency.info/signs-an...

Why are you not on Levothyroxine yet?

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Mehrz, This is not a common symptom of hypothyroidism as far as I'm aware, but inadequate levels of thyroid hormone can cause muscle weakness, and hence potential bladder weakness.

You say you are not on any medication, but your TSH was 6.49 in July. This certainly sounds as if you should be being treated for hypothyroidism. Please visit your doctor as soon as you can to describe your symptoms and ask for your thyroid hormone levels to be re-tested.

If you are in the Uk you can get full testing privately

But see GP and see if you can get full Thyroid and vitamin testing first

Yes, you're right, it can be a symptom of hypothyroidism, and it is caused by muscle weakness. I used to wake up and have to rush to the toilet, or the urine would quickly leak out ~ I had no control over it. It seemed like when I was asleep and relaxed, the bladder had also become 'relaxed' and when I moved or stood up, urine leaked out. It would get better as the day went on. I don't have the problem at all now, because I am optimally medicated with thyroid hormone. You need to see your Dr to get thyroid treatment as soon as possible, and for your other symptoms too. Good luck🍀 x

You're welcome. You may also need B12, as low levels can cause this too, and mine were also low. Vitamin deficiencies are common in hypothyroidism, so make sure you get them checked. x

Oh you must get some B12 right away ~ it's very important. I had a B12 deficiency and it caused me so many problems. I hope it will help you. x
