I know tirosint is easily obtainable in the USA, Canada and Mexico. I had discussed with other members; who would like to figure out on tirosint’s availability in the UK. There are a few million in my country, the US, getting it prescribed now. I wonder if this is something that If enough people could petition the manufacturer IBSA then they would start to offer it in the UK. I know if a few thousands could petition to IBSA, I believe it could make them aware of a big market in the UK.
No fillers and therapeutic effects have been more beneficial. You could say the same about brands and types of levo available in the USA. I think more people have been more respective or the people from my encounters. It could be subjective but ibsa has reported over 1 billion in sales and 110 million prescriptions per year (not people, but prescription filled) of tirosint in the USA.
Gelatin, glycerin ,water and T4 .Claims less affected by ppi’s.
Made in Switzerland . Wonder what cost is. Seems could be good for many who have trouble with various fillers . Not a problem for me but I do have ppi’s.
It cost twice as much as levothyroxine with fillers over here in the US. Doctors offices are usually stocked with them from drug representatives. I am glad doctors are working with tirosint manufacturers in the US. I can say more people are on it now then levothyroxine at least at my pharmacy because the pharmacist always has to order more.
I would sign that petition, i have explored every avenue to try to get tirosint here in the uk, i am drawing blanks. I may have to fly to greece to get it if i can't get it in the next 2wks. I'm literally pulling my hair out.
Unfortunately the NHS decide which drugs we use. When I worked for a hospital pharmacy we were sent instructions which brands and which drugs to order.
I'm afraid so ... at least they are not allowed to take Doctors on cruises now like they used to. I have been wined and dined by a few big drug companies and taken for a tour of their factories in the past when I worked for the NHS.
