Hi I've recently moved back to the uk from Singapore. Whilst there my endo prescribed nature tyroid which I've been taking alongside Levo.
It was a life changer for me after being fat,low in mood, full of aches and pains, forgetful you name it !
To losing 4 stone and most if not all my symptoms gone or greatly decreased. As you can imagine I don't want to stop taking it.
Does anyone know how or where I can continue to get it from. I see my new gp tomorrow but don't hold out much hope as the nurse at the practice said they wouldn't prescribe or couldn't as it's not licensed.
I'm in staffordshire so any help would be hugely appreciated.

Hi. Your GP can prescribe on a named patient basis but many choose not to. As you have been prescribed this and well on it for a while with no adverse effects there really isn't any reason your GP can't prescribe it on a named patient basis. Here is some information from the main Thyroid UK website regarding this subject:
If your GP won't prescribe post a question asking for online sources which don't require prescription and ask members to send information via private messages.
Unfortunately my new gp refused to prescribe on a named patient basis. He had never heard of the meds and just wouldn't budge.
I've not got a referral to see an endo privately as otherwise I could be waiting months on the NHS and by no means does he guarantee that this is going to give me the outcome I desire. I think I'm going to have to order online at least for a while. Of the endo doesn't prescribe for me I'm just hoping that at least he will keep an eye on my blood work (or at least listen to me)
Feeling quite flat now really never did I think this would be such a mine field !
