Hello all. This morning I followed a link on this website to read the very interesting Medscape article about the MHRA. On following a link in this article I came across this UK government petition which many here may be interested in signing.

Petition to turn MHRA into a fully transparent, patient first regulator
Thanks, I've signed it. This is an incredibly important petition because the MHRA does little to ensure patient safety. When I started fighting the price of liothyronine the single manufacturer at the time claimed UK liothyronine was so expensive because it was higher quality than European liothyronine.
I submitted a Freedom of Information request that revealed UK liothyronine production did not meet standards and was only allowed tobe marketed on a batch approval basis. That is each batch of liothyronine has to be tested and approved on an individual basis. This probably explains why there were occasional shortages. The MHRA allowed production even though the process standards were unacceptable. We need a MHRA that works for patients with full transparency.
Signed and shared. Thanks for the link.
Signed and will share.
just signed, x
I doubt the MHRA will ever be a patient-first regulator based on their current funding model.
They were mainly funded by pharmaceutical companies when I last read about it.

worth a try but sadly even when the number of names is reached parliament can still choose not to debate something we the public ask for….as they’ve done recently.
Just replying in the hope that more members see this.
