didnt do much yesterday as felt awful
hopefully will do more today
mandy72 you have had very good aims but you have to listen to your body and if you feel unwell leave a gap of some days for you to recover. You can always continue after a rest. You shouldn't force your body even if you should want to continue. After all, the majority on this forum are struggling for 'normal health' but hypo might well delay this a bit.
im determined to get it done
wasnt feeling great today, really drained
everyone in the house wound me up to the point of me grabbing my water bottle and bag and walking
it felt good just to be on my own and i got in the 2 miles
but you are right i do need to take a break if i feel the need
Two miles!! that's great. It is also a great way to get rid of the build-up of stress you had from family members. Sometimes we do need some solitude and that could be rare if we've a family to also care for. I remember when mine were young I said 'don't call me Mum' as they were saying Mum about every two minutes for this or that
Hey there Mandy,
I've been following you from the beginning and care more for your overall wellbeing than the steps you may, or may not have, achieved.
Pushing yourself through, something we are all guilty of and recognise, isn't going to help you long term, and if you need to stop, just stop.
You don't need permission from anyone but yourself.
You are the only one here that matters.
Please just do what feels right for you, none of us want you with that awful " payback " from overexertion - as for family, well, they all think they know what's best - they mean well, but in all honesty, you are the only one who knows what you need to do.
I live alone and need to get out from my four walls so walk out around my village daily, in the hope I might meet someone for a small chat about " nothing " - I seem to be at the other end of " this road " to you - and it's finding that balance that sits well and that you are comfortable with.
its been a stressful year and thats effected me big time but doing the walk last month made me relise that i dont need to sit at home all day doing nothing, yes there are days its a struggle and i take it easy but them some days i just want to go, few weeks back we walked to coate water and back, ive never done it before but that day i did 5.99 miles and felt good
if i dont feel up to going out i wont but its suprisong how many steps can just be done walking around doing things at home
Yes, stress is a big factor for all of us.
Try not to internalise, and find ways of diverting your thoughts into doing something that is just for you.
Yes, as you say you did feel good after walking 5.99 miles, but it may not be a given every day, so don't beat yourself up, and just take each day as it comes, and settle on what makes sense for you on a daily basis.
I'm watching, so watch out !!!!! xxxxxx
