Definitely not a good idea, but I feel your desperation and totally understand why you did this.

Plans you might like to look at include the 5:2 intermittent fasting plan, which has shown good results not only in weight loss but also has health benefits, apparently; and the paleo diet. Many hypothyroid patients find this helpful too. I can't remember if you are hypo or hyper but maybe one of these plans might help.

One thing I would say is to make sure your health is good in order to lose weight. Firstly try and get your thyroid treatment so that your blood levels are good and you no longer have symptoms. Most people find it next to impossible to lose weight while their thyroid is undertreated. Good iron and ferritin levels are also important for weight loss, as are good levels of folate and B12. Low vitamin D won't help either so it is important to get this checked too.

Remember to drink plenty of water too. When you have toxins in your body, you produce more fat in which to store them to take them away from your vital systems. As you lose weight, all the toxins stored in your fat cells will be released into your system. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day will help flush out these toxins so that your body doesn't try and make more fat to store them out of the way again. At least, this is how I understood the process to work but I am by no means an expert in the subject.

I hope you find the solution soon, but please don't starve yourself especially while you are working!

(((Hugs)))

sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell, possibly

due to low blood sugar. Just in case you are interested, have a look at the fast diet, I am fasting two days a week, Mondays and thursdays. On these days I have one meal in the evening of around 500 calories, and drink plenty of water and diet lemonade. I did feel unwell the first time I tried it, had an awful migraine the next day as well, but three months on these problems are gone. There is a web site, just type in fast diet and it should get you there. Incidentally, I have lost 8lbs but it has taken 3 months, I have an underactive thyroid, and so i didn't expect to lose much but other people tend to lose a pound a week.

That's interesting that you are fine now with the fasting diet. I tried it for one day only and by late afternoon felt very shaky and unwell. I gave up :( Perhaps I should give it another go then. Xx

What is diet lemonade? I hope it doesn't contain artificial sweetners! Because they are very, very bad for you!!!

Hi Often hunger and eating are a sign of thirst, try drinking a lot of water, good for you anyway.

Sorry to hear you don't feel well. I was interested to read you work for a dry-cleaning company. I did this work for a couple of years about five years ago but I left because it made me feel ill with dreadful headaches in fact I felt drunk. I looked ill too as did my co-workers. I worked with Percolone and when I read about working with this and other chemicals I was horrified. I assume things have improved now. Jax

Do you think using this chemical has a bad effect on health? People at the main site seemed to suffer from a lot of problems which I am afraid I didn't take a lot of notice of in those days.x
