Chronic constipation

Hi community,What to do when you have chronic constipation? Suppositories, enemas no longer working. I drink a lot of water. I'm vegan. Stopped veggies and fruits until constipation resolved. Any recommendations please? Thank you

Try Laxido . You can take up to 8 sachets in a day if badly constipated . I was badly affected after each chemo session.

I found it a little tricky initially working out how many to take not taking enough at first. Settled on 6 then 2 the next day.

Vitamin c, High strength, increase till 'oh thank goodness occurs, starting with 1000mg a day. I take 1000mg a day always then on occasion if constipated I take 2000mg, usually enough for me and all is well the next day but if not then 3000mg etc etc.

If you are taking more than thyroid medications have you spoken to your pharmacist about possible medication causes? If I were in your shoes I would visit a Gastroenterologist if you haven’t already, &/or don’t know the underlying cause of your constipation.

in reply toClarrisa

Yes Clarissa I believe this is the reason. Until my medication is balanced I need to find something. Thank you

Warm orange juice, caffeinated coffee, soup, chocolate, in decreasing order of effectiveness, in my opinion.

I have had IBS with chronic constipation for over 30 years! I also tried everything without any improvement. This past year, I found and tried "Miralax". It doesn't cause any pain. It has never not worked and I no longer worry about it.

Thank you Francy44. I used it in the past but made me bloated.

I’m amazed various laxes incl suppositories aren’t working. That usually leaves manual evacs at times if v severe. You seem to be aware of good diet-roughage, fluids, and exercise helps too
