Digestion and constipation

It seems like after I eat I feel very full and sometimes a little nauseous. I’m also struggling with constipation. I think I read these are typical symptoms because my system is running slowly until I hit my sweet spot. Thoughts? Thank you!

They are hypo symptoms, yes. Do you take any magnesium or vit C?

I can get some! What dosage? 😁

For women the magnesium dosage is usually about 350 mg - but you need magnesium citrate. But, I think it might be better to start on a lower dose and work up slowly. See how it affects you.

For Vit C, the sky's the limit, but again, start low and build up slowly, seeing how it affects you. But, don't start taking them both at once. Just try one and see how it goes.

I expect you have low stomach acid, which causes bloating and feelings of being full. Try taking a little vit C before each meal, see if it helps. Say about 250 mg to start with.

My food pipe narrows in one spot, and that gives me horrid digestive problems. There is a medical term for it, the name of which escapes me, it was picked up during an endoscopy.

I was put on Omeprazole which I didn’t like taking although it did the trick.

Then I did some research and found others with digestive troubles were taking Slippery Elm which is a natural product.

I bought some and hey presto, I can eat again without horrible indigestion pains and feeling as if nothing is going down.

You just take a capsule 3 times a day at meal times.

The relief is lasting and I don’t always take them all, most times a single or couple of times a day is enough.

I hope you feel better soon. x

greygoose has great suggestions with magnesium citrate and vitamin "C".

Would you know if you have any Gut/Digestive Issues ? It sound like you could have. Many of us with thyroid issues have Gut /Digestive issues .

Pro-Biotic is helpful some digestive Enzymes with your meals and Betaine HCl can help you with digestion and elimination. Being Optimal with thyroid dosing T3/T4 is very helpful .

The digestive issues started with this thyroid mess. I’m hoping when I reach my sweet spot they will resolve. I am one of the fortunate ones, I seem to have every symptom

Having thyroid issues comes with a baggage . It affects our whole body .

I had the same problems as you when I first started taking Levo, especially the constipation issue and lots of heartburn.

I have been taking five prunes everyday right after dinner(my dessert) and my issues have completely disappeared. No more constipation and no more heartburn. I will continue eating the prunes because it turns out they can reverse osteoporosis also...well what do you know. The wonders of nature.

Did I mention that my hair stop falling? so happy about that!

That is wonderful news!! I tried the prunes but not very helpful. I think my whole system is moving very slowly. I know I'm undermedicated but have to wait for my next draw to make changes. I've not been very patient and changed my doses too many times and too frequently. I'm just trying to hang on and let the meds do their thing for another few weeks. Terrible disease. Best!!

But did you eat 5/6 at once? you should give them a second chance. Yes, patience is the key when trying to get the right results. And don't despair one of this days everything will resolve for you as it did for me.
