I was on naturethoid for many years and did reasonably well on it. I had to change due to availability. I decided to try T4 and T3 synthetics with full backing by my doc. However, Im now only on 20 mcg of T3 where before I was on 27 mcg. My doc wants to test after 6 weeks and doesn't want to up my T3 until tested but I'm exhausted. What can I do? Im in week 4 now and it's hit. Admittedly when I saw her last week I was not feeling like this.
She did up my dose of synthetic T4 from 112.5 mcg to 125mcg last week ( I was on 3 grains of naturethroid and the conversion is T4 112.5 mcg and T3 27 mcg). So my T4 intake is up a bit and my T3 intake is down a bit.
Could it be the raise in T4 or lack of T3? Im taking all meds in the morning at least 45 mins before breakfast. Thanks guys

As it’s T3 which is the active hormone I would assume it would be the drop in this which is affecting you. And the tiny rise in T4 would hardly make any difference, in my opinion. It could be worth looking at your vitamin/mineral levels?
If you feel that poorly perhaps return to GP and ask for test to be brought forward and dose of T3 raised. What brand of Levo do you have - if it’s TEVA, that might not suit you, as it causes problems foe some.
Why did your doc not move you to the equivalent? Another thought is - I was on 2.75 grains of Nature Throid, but after switch I seem to need much less t3 than in NDT (so far anyway). Some people on here say synthetics are more potent and then there are brand differences too.
I would request to do the blood test next week. My private Endocrinologist only leaves 4 weeks when starting a new dose. T3 reacts much quicker than T4.
It’s possible you could be over medicated on T3 as I’ve read it can be more potent than natural products. And brands differ also in my experience. Especially Sigma 5mcg T3 seems potent. And Teva Levothyroxine gives lots of people trouble. I take ThyBon Henning T3 privately. I have tried Sigma T3 too.
If you’re feeling unwell then something has changed and your body is telling you to increase or decrease. The only way of really knowing is to get your bloods done as soon as you can.
Also, you could try dividing your T3 dose into two doses and take 10mcg before breakfast and the other 8 hours later. This may provide a bit of improvement straight away- if it suits you
