Would it be foolish to up meds?

Latest results on 112.5 t4 and 12.5t3 latest dose 12h before test. :

TSH

0.35-5.50 mU/L<0.03 (L)

Free T4

10.0-19.8 pmol/L17.5

Free T3

3.5-6.5 pmol/L5.2

Have increased by 6.25 mcg t3 but feel no better. If I still haven't improved after say a week or 2 would it be foolish to up another 6.25mcg t3?

Clara9,

Yes, it would be foolish. You need to allow the T3 to take effect. The T3 increase you have just made will probably take your FT3 to the top of range. A further increase will almost certainly take it over range. Look at this link to see why dose adjustments shouldn't be too frequent thyrophoenix.com/adjusting_...

Have you checked that ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate are optimal?

Yes they are all optimal according to this site

Clara9,

That's good. You need to wait for the T3 to start working then.

Yes I agree, it often takes me 3 months to feel the full effect of an increase of T3 so it's best just to patient - maybe not quite as long as me but I would say two months :-)

In your previous post and again today you have been asked about levels of B12 - Folate -Ferritin - VitD . They all need to be good/optimal for your thyroid hormones to work well. Please post them with ranges and treatment if any.

Apologies if I have missed them somewhere 😊
