Disappointing results - low T4 T3 and iron

Hypothyroidism

My new blood tests show my T3 total and free & T4 total and free have dropped since my last test in March. My iron and ferritin has also dropped.

Free T4(range 1.4-3.8)

Dec = 0.9

March = 1.4

Aug = 0.9

Free T3 (range 2.3-4.2)

Dec- 3.3

March = 3.5

Aug = 2.1

Iron total = 50 (range 45-160)

was 59 in March

Iron binding = 277 (range 250-450)

Ferritin = 64 (range 10-232)

was 78 in March

% saturation = 18 (range 11-50)

I am so disappointed & now I need to start increasing my thyroid meds to get to a higher range. I am currently taking 1 grain (60) of NDT plus 50mg levo (I weigh 125lbs). I am taking iron supplements too (not at the same time as thyroid meds) In March I felt pretty good but I could tell something was off lately as my hair & nails are brittle and thinning again & my energy levels are poor.

My question is does my thyroid lower my iron or is it the low iron that is messing with my thyroid? It appears both need adjusting. If anyone else has struggled with this - please help with suggestions on what works for you.

Please feel free to post a new question if you wish. Posts are sometimes missed as it is so busy. Or maybe no-one who read it was able to answer?
