For all the fellow sufferers out there - don't loose hope!

Well, today it stroke me! After 7 long years of dealing with Basedow-Graves, surgery and effects of central hypothyroidism (T4 failure to relieve symptoms) I have been symptom free for about ONE FULL YEAR.

I have actually forget I have this issue, my last tests are January old and don't really need to check, as I am feeling just fine.

Every now and then I feel a slight low and I'm reminded to strictly adhere to HRT absorption prerequisites but this is a pale reminder compared to the mad roller-coaster I've been through for years...

Bottom line, to keep it short....never give up hope, there is life, good life that is, after thyroid disease.

This goes to all of you in suffering, as it goes to all of the people sharing impressions, experiences and advice on this forum.

Dear Caesard,

Congratulations! This is wonderful news! You were one of the first people to help me out when I first joined the forum, and I can’t tell you how nice it is to see your post today. I wish you continued good health. As I am in a bit of a low phase right now, will take your words of encouragement to heart today. All the best!

Thanks Greekchick, it's quite nice to be in my skin today.

I remember you too, I know you've felt disoriented and somehow lost.

Forget your current lowish point for a moment and compare yourself now with you at the time of writing your first posts here. Is there a difference?

Of course, if you feel you need help or even support with your current situation, please don't hesitate to bring it forward here. That's the primordial scope of this forum.

Thanks for your lovely reply. I am much better than I was, and I guess I needed to be reminded of that. I am getting there slowly but surely, and as you know, some days are better than others. Tomorrow will be better - I am nothing if not an eternal optimist. All the best.

That was indeed the point of my question. :)

You have all my empathy, as I can perfectly recall how sometimes this can be overwhelmingly difficult. Step by step, it will be better, this is a "lucky" forum, most of us have the chance to cope with our misery and eventually get reasonably better. I am a living example and I am extremely grateful about it.

And it has been lucky for me too - I have learned so much from reading the posts here and that has helped in my care, so I am eternally grateful to my fellow forum members. All the best.

Exciting news, I’m very happy for you. I remember my first post on here was ‘will I ever feel normal again?’ And yes, I do, or as normal as I’m ever going to be. So we’ll done to you Caesard. 💐🎉🎈🍰

So, I'm not the only one making it to the shore. I knew it! Congratulations to you too, and to all the others that did it or are about to do it.
