Antibiotics will interact with Levothyroxine?

Hi everyone,

I’m on 125 mcg Levothyroxine, and I wonder if I take antibiotics for ear infection will interact with my Levothyroxine? Any advice? Thank you!

Some antibiotics are known to decrease absorption of thyroid meds, some are know to increase absorption.

I think the best thing to do is take your Levo as far away from your antibiotic as possible.

I take a maintenance antibiotic 3 times a week for my lung disease, and occasionally I do get an infection and need a course of antibiotics. I take my Levo in the early hours of the morning when I need a bathroom trip and that keeps it well away from anything else I take.

I've just had a similar ear infection and was prescribed Otomize ear spray (Teva UK Ltd).

Took a while to cure the infection, finished the spray well before the creaking noises in my ear stopped. No interactions, but I take NDT, not levothyroxine.
