Long awaited appointment today after local US showed ‘ massively enlarged left lobe of thyroid extending retrosternally
with large solid nodule’ had hoped fir biopsy but person doing them wasn’t there!!
Will get CT scan also but need appt in two weeks time fir possible biopsy. Registrar didn’t know if I have to stop Apixaban before biopsy and didn’t try to find out. Hoping I don’t get there and can’t have it cos of that. Differing guidance online. All very depressing!!!

So sorry to hear you had such a bad day. Maybe someone else at the clinic will be able to give you a definitive answer so you don’t waste another trip. Dr. Google is not always reliable, unfortunately. Hope you have better luck tomorrow and wishing you all the best.
When they do the biopsy, it will be a fine needle biopsy guided by an ultrasound. The worst part will be the shot to numb you and it's not bad. I left with a dot band-aid which I was told that I could remove once I got to the hallway. I had no bruising or pain. There is no need to stop Apixaban.
