Blood results including raised CRP

Hi all

After a Blood test in June and one in July, showing only the usual NHS tsh and ft4 results, I followed the recommendations on here and got tested via medi checks. My results are in photo below... I'm not diagnosed as hypo nor on medication for it.

Any comments/advice would be greatly appreciated x

See GP to discuss

NHS doesn't usually start Levothyroxine until TSH reaches ten, if no raised antibodies

Clearly TSH is high

FT4 is right at bottom of range

Presumably you have symptoms?

Your antibodies are both low. You don't appear to have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). But one in five Hashimoto's patients never have raised antibodies. Have you ever had high antibodies in past?

Ask GP for An ultrasound scan of thyroid this can help diagnose autoimmune thyroid disease

Vitamin D is too low. But not low enough for GP to prescribe

GP can only prescribe to bring vitamin D up to 50nmol. Aiming to improve by self supplementing to at least 80nmol and around 100nmol may be better .

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Retesting twice yearly via vitamindtest.org.uk

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is good as avoids poor gut function.

It's trial and error what dose each person needs.

folate on the low side. Supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in not folic acid may be beneficial.

B vitamins best taken in the morning after breakfast

Recommended brands on here are Igennus Super B complex. (Often only need one tablet per day, not two. Certainly only start with one tablet per day after breakfast. Retesting levels in 6-8 weeks ).

Or Jarrow B-right is popular choice, but is large capsule

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

If vitamin D is low, B vitamins may be too. As explained by Dr Gominack

High CRP - have you recently had a cold or virus? Needs checking again by GP in few weeks

Getting Full Thyroid and vitamin testing again in 3-4 months after improving vitamins may show higher TSH
