Its so much horrible once I move. And first when pain started tat day I went to loo twice immediately by paining badly but now 2 days am n constipation. .. What could it be ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ August 10th I wil get periods... The worst part is tat I can't even tel whether the pain is due to gyno or gastro related ๐Ÿ˜ญ pls reply anyone....

I suppose any food could cause abdominal pain if it was not processed correctly & some sort of food poisoning got into it. I am so sorry you are experiencing such pain. If your doctor has not been able to shed light on your pain it may be time to consider a second opinion. Iโ€™ve done that myself for abdominal pain, but be prepared they may want to repeat or add additional tests to what you already have had done (& show them copies of).

So you may want to stipulate you are seeking only recommendations (or be clear in your mind what you are OK with repeating) to show your current doctor should you not want to be subjected to their testing too. I hope you obtain resolution of your pain soon.

Amy, if the lower abdominal pain persists, and since you've had it previously in Apr, you should have it investigated further.

There are various good responses and advice in this thread which could be helpful.

In the mean time, will a hot water bottle help with the pain?

โ€ข in reply toling

Thank you feeling little better today compared to yesterday...

Hope it means it's being passed out of your system.

You may want to note that turmeric has stimulatory properties for some people. It can make one pass more motion. And throw in the ginger pepper and oil, it's not a happy combination for the gut. All too "powerful" and too much for the gut to handle all at once : (

With these sorts of condiments, it's best to go easy on them and slowly introduce them into your body system via daily cooking as part of your diet. Test them out individually so u can tell how each affects you.

Hi.. this may be of no use at all, but I was only diagnosed with Hashimotos because of the most awful abdominal pain Iโ€™ve ever felt (and Iโ€™ve been through labour twice!)

It would have me crying and up all night.

Went to the docs, they did the usual range of blood tests and found that I had really high T4 (then got re-tested and found I had normal to low T3 and height antibodies so on to a Hashiโ€™s diagnosis)

Once my T4 dropped, the pain went away.

Might have just been my weird body, but could be worth looking into?

I really hope you feel better soon.

I have hypothyroid nd taking eltroxin 50

did you get both a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound? altho from what iโ€™ve read and have been told, some things like endometriosis cannot be detected by ultrasound so something to keep in mind. personally i would seek a second opinion by a different gyno and/or get a second set of ultrasounds. (if you havenโ€™t already had those ultrasounds that might be the first step). hope you are able to get it resolved and feel better soon.

Already so many times did gyno nd gastro scans but nothing abnormal found doctor told

maybe try a different gyno who specializes in menstrual issues, if you havenโ€™t already!

Sounds more gynae related to me being low down, but Iโ€™m not medical at all.

My bowels used to be very related to where in my cycle I was. Some people get terrible pain when they ovulate I believe.

If the pain hasnโ€™t gone away and isnโ€™t getting better Iโ€™d definitely go back to my gp.

Best of luck

Like Ruby1, I think this sounds like ovulatory pain, I had this for a year or two and used to take strong nurofen/aspirin or similar, worth discussing again with doc.

Yes I agree . Sounds like ovulation pain. Typical to get pains in lower abdominal area- pain about mid cycle approx 2 weeks before period starts. Could also be polycystic ovarian syndrome. (PCOS). Iโ€™d get blood tests for all your hormone levels eg LH, FSH etc., and get referred to a good gynaecologist or endocrinologist who specialises in reproductive health. Gut/Gynae things go hand in hand as any inflammation in one area can affect the other. Taking pain relief such as Paracetamol regularly during acute pain phases should help. If it doesnโ€™t you must get yourself referred to a specialist.

This is not my area of expertise but I remember reading somewhere that ovarian cysts are related to hypothyroidism. Sorry that's all I can remember - I had a strange little pain in one side of my abdomen, I suspected an ovarian problem and read that hypothyroidism is related. It later disappeared (the pain that is).

It sounds as though it could be period related.

I experienced what you describe - extreme, lower abdominal pain radiating down the legs - prior to my periods.

Sometimes it was so bad Iโ€™d vomit and/or faint.

You need to go back to your doctor.

PS

Further to my earlier reply I should have added that I also suffered terribly from constipation prior to the onset of my period.

That would resolve (dramatically!) when my period arrived.

Thank you so much for all your replies ๐Ÿ™I hav took, so many times gyno scans and gastro scans too... In these 10 yrs.... And both gastro nd gyno just prescribed meds and said nothing abnormal... Everything alright... Thy didn't give any specific names lik ibs, diverultis and al...

If your pain is caused by endometriosis the bad news is that it does not show up on ultrasound, X-rays, CT scans, or MRI. The only way it can be identified, and probably the reason why it is so difficult to get a diagnosis, is by having a laparoscopy and a surgeon actually seeing it. Of course, if the surgeon is not thorough or looks in the wrong place you can still get told you are absolutely fine even if you are riddled with endometriosis. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, as the saying goes.

Hello Amy, on April 29 of 2018 I had a total thyroidectomy due to multinodular goiter due to Hashimoto's thyroiditis diagnosed since 2005, six days after surgery I started with terrible gastric problems, unstoppable gastritis and reflux,

as well as panic and anxiety attacks, I have seen three gastroenterologists, psychiatrist, I have done 2 endoscopies, ph metria, manometry, gastro-duodenal esophageal series and recently, an abdominal tomography, since then the symptoms have been changing until they reach the pain you describe, which I have in the epigastrium and is aggravated fifteen days before of my menstruation (I ruled out endometriosis)

Supposedly my thyroid hormone was already controlled but I made a new thyroid profile and surprise, T3, T4 and Tsh went out of range, unfortunately my endocrinologist as well as the other medical specialists never related my symptoms to thyroid extraction. I found an internist who immediately increased the dose of the hormone and will see me every 20 days (bearing the thyroid profile), not every six months as the endocrinologist told me. I have felt improvement with respect to pain since the dose changed (10 days now), in fact right now I have premenstrual syndrome and the pain has decreased, another thing I wanted to tell you is that at this time I was suddenly diagnosed with insulin resistance, Fatty liver and severe colitis, which confirms that thyroid hormones influence too much the rate in which the organs and glands of our body work, I hope that my experience be helpful and know that you are not alone.

Greetings.

Is the pain in the left side of your lower abdomen?

Do you pass mucous in your bowel movements?

Have your medics considered diverticilitis?

This might help -

Many years ago, when I was young enough!!! I used to have endometriosis. Your pain sounds very similar to what I remember. I also used to feel very very cold and under par.

Your doctor should be giving you adequate pain relief if nothing else !!

Best wishes๐Ÿ˜Š
