How to add T3 to T4?

Hi I’m currently on 100ug levo but I’ve recently been prescribed t3 by a private doctor due to the following results:

Tsh 0.26 (0.3-6)

Ft4 21.7 (12-23)

FT3 3.61 (3.1-6.8)

My concern is that he isn’t lowering my t4 just adding in the t3. Does anyone else have any experience of this? Thanks!

I think that’ll be fine Daisybellerose. Your FT4 is just under 90% and as long as it doesn’t get any higher you should be good. It’ll probably come down when you add T3 which you desperately need at only 13% through range. How much have you been prescribed? Have you been given instructions on how to introduce it?

They’re 25ug tablets that he said to split and take half a day so 12.5 ug.

I’ve heard that splitting the dose and taking half in morning and half in the evening is better but he didn’t really say anything when I mentioned that. I would also have thought that they’d start you on a lower dose to begin with like 5ug? He didn’t tell me when to take it regarding my thyroxine or tell me any additional information really!?
