Advice on Going back to the beginning of thyroid treatment due to Undergoing breast cancer treatment

Hello. Well, 6 months after being diagnosed as subclinical hypothyroidism (Hashis really), I was then diagnosed with Inflammatory breast cancer in March this year. So started chemo in April and finish in 3 weeks - yay! Now, with going through all this, taking levo went out of the window! Not because of any contraindications with the puts of other meds that I am being given, more like I forgot to take it (chemo brain!). So, once the chemo is over, I want to get a new private blood test done instead of going through the GP. Does anyone know if chemo could have an effect on the results? If so, how many weeks after chemo should I get the blood tests done? Thanks in advance for your help 😊

Thanks for replying. So how many weeks after chemo will have passed before you have the blood test?

7 weeks, the previous one was done by the hospital in the afternoon ,whilst I was an in patient for atrial flutter and sepsis ,one week before my last chemo. I was only informed later that TSH was tested amongst other tests .So perhaps a reason for being 1.5 when previous was

0.7

It doesn't directly answer to your question but I was diagnosed with breast cancer nearly three years ago now. I didn't need to have chemo, just radiotherapy but I did end up increasing my medication. What that was caused by I can't pin it down and maybe just the fact I'd had an operation plus the stress and worry that went with it. I was taking NDT, not Levo but that was my experience and I took the extra I think for around 11minths.
