Hi all, after being in use of different brands of Levo for 4 years, 100mg...50mg and 25mg tabs. I have found when using 25mg of TEVA i feel normal. Sometimes i get Wockhardt - and usually feel terrible. I want to make sure i get a constanf supply of TEVA 25mg tabs. Is there anyway i can get hold of them? I dont mind buying them. But my pharmacy seem to get different brands of stock and its getting fustrating now. Do Boots pharmacy get TEVA in?
Northstar and TEVA work well for me. Please help.

I didn't know there was much difference in medication before I became hypothyroid. It is the same with thyroid hormones, some make us feel well but another might make us feel awful.
My pharmacist orders a particular make of medicine I take (not thyroid hormones) as another makes me unwell. I always double-check when its handed to me that I have the right one and only once has there been a different make in the envelope. We are entitled to ask.
The irony - many of the rest of us say "Not Teva"!
Which is yet more evidence that we are all different.
The other day, as I have already mentioned in another thread, I kept getting offered Teva.
There are, broadly, two ways of trying to make sure you always get Teva. One, ask your pharmacy always to supply Teva. The other, get your doctor to prescribe by name.
I always ask, as I hand in my prescription, what makes they will dispense. If they are not what I am happy with, on to the next pharmacy. Always check the bag as it is handed over - and before leaving the counter.
Cheers for the replys. When you say onto the next pharmacy...? I have one to collect my meds from...what do i have to do in order to check another one? Ive read bad things about TEVA in the past, but behold here i am needing it lol
In my experience, pharmacies are normally really good at getting particular brands if I have told them that one works better than another for me. Even online pharmacies, who contact me if they are having trouble finding the right brand, rather than just sending me another brand.
If your prescription is sent to one pharmacy electronically, and that pharmacy cannot get the brand you need, ask them to cancel their association with the prescription and to give you the code for the prescription. You can then ask any other pharmacy if they can supply, and if so give them the code for your prescription.
Alternatively, you can opt out of the electronic prescription system and pick up the green slip from the GP. I had to do that for a while as the electronic prescription system initially could not cope with the "lactose-free" instruction that I needed on the prescription.
Good you gave foubd a medication that suits you! TEVA apparently is good if you are lactose intolerant so may be you have that issue but worth remembering that in the future.
Ask your doctors to put it on your prescription and that should mean touvwikk get it every time but also check in the pharmacy that they have put it on your records. Do check before you leave the pharmacy that they have given you the right brand. They won't replace it after you have wandered outside!
My pharmacist suggested when I had what is now known as Mercury Pharmacy that I try to get a month in hand just incase they didn't have any in when I needed it. So some times I ordered it a day or two earlier and of course after say a Couple of Fridays I left it to the Monday. Doctor never twigged and Pharmacy were happy though I can't remember ever having to fall back on the 'secret stash' . Just remember though to use them in chronological order so you don't find one day that it's out of date!
Wonderful!! I love Teva, but unfortunately you are the first I’ve seen on this site that also prefers it. I have requested it for over a year and the one time I had another make I felt awfull. Since taking it my medichecks blood tests have proved I convert Teva better. My t3 over the years has always been just above 4 but with Teva is 5.5ish. This month I am having difficulty
Finding Teva 100 in my local pharmacy but they will give me the 25s they have.
I collected mine today and was given northstar in 100 and 50s. And TEVA in 25s. Once i get the TEVA in 25s at minimum im good. Will wait to see what happens next time due to a little muddle up with supply. Before i order i will ask of they have any stock and if not, to give me the green slip or code to collect somewhere else. I used to take Northstar 100s...50s and Wockhardt 25s and used to be terrible. I imagine something to do with lactose may be the cause. Will look into this at my gp. Worth checking imo
Hi, just wondered if you are still managing to get teva? This brand seems to be the only one that does not give me chronic joint pain. I was told Teva had stopped producing?! Thanks
