Anyone use Teva levothyroxine . Using Wockhard at the moment but having trouble increasing my dosage .A keinogolist has said to take two brands as this can help as one brand might have something in it so you can only take a certain amount and mixing the brands can give better results in some people who are sensitive to this . Thanks

Teva has caused adverse reactions with lots of members here but it does suit some people. Every brand has exipients and some of us can react to one or other of them.

You can check the excipients of all Levo brands available here:

Mixing brands is not recommended, best to find a brand that suits you and stick to that. I think your kinesiology is giving unsound advice. If you react to something in one brand, taking less of it by mixing brands still means that you'll be taking something you're sensitive to and will probably still react.

I tried one of the Teva this morning with two of my wockhard and I feel fine so far .I could never take 3 off the wockhard brand as they would have made me so ill .

I could never take 3 off the wockhard brand as they would have made me so ill .

Is that because the dose was too high or because of the fillers?

As you can see from other replies, mixing brands is not a good idea.

All I know is I needed to up them but they made me ill as if too strong and sinuses and headaches after I took them in mor .Thatdid were off after I got up but I felt terrible .Today I feel good and we are all different so maybe that’s what will work for me .I am very sensitive to fillers etc so will see how I get on

I agree with SeasideSusie. Find a brand of levo and stick to it. If the tablets run into quality issues, or you have side effects, how will you know which ones are causing a problem if you're mixing 2 types? Your kinesiologists advice is not logical.

Making sure vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 levels are optimal, not just somewhere within range can help Thyroid hormones work better

It’s was pointed out to me be different medical people that too much iron etc can be worse for some people and my results are good as near the top

Afraid your kinesiologist appears not to fully understand things.

For one example, Advanz (Mercury Pharma) 25 microgram levothyroxine tablets are disporportionately large despite having the same ingredient list as their 50 and 100 microgram tablets. The proportion of active ingredient to excipients (fillers, etc.) will be way different.

So if there is anything in what was said, it needs to consider this issue as well.

I love Teva as I know I convert it easier and it takes my symptoms away. When I mix or have any other make my symptoms return. My t3 is about 4 when on other t4 or a mix. But with Teva my t3 is above 5.

That’s great to know as I feel I must have converted better this morning as I feel good .Just hope it last and I don’t have any problems
