Private tests for thyroid, cortisol & DHEA

Hi,

I'd like to know which companies you use for private blood tests please. I live in Devon so I guess some may not be as accessible as others. I've been on Levothyroxine for nearly 3 months and have been feeling a lot better which is great. I understand that around this time it's a good idea to have repeat tests to check thyroid levels and to consider upping dosage.

My GP is happy to do normal blood tests and also checking other hormones (possibly post-menopausal according to previous blood tests) but I know the lab won't do test for T3.

I've used Medichecks for initial thyroid tests, also cortisol saliva test. I'd like to repeat the cortisol plus DHEA and understand Genova is good to use, I'm checking to see the closest clinic to me, but may not be able to use them.

Any thoughts appreciated, thanks for your help!

You just order the kit with ThyroidUK as your "practioner", they send the kit out to you, you collect the saliva samples at home and send them off. Regenerus send results direct to you, Genova send the to ThyroidUK who then send them on to you.

Medichecks and Blue Horizon both offer fingerprick tests and venous blood draw (extra cost) for thyroid/vitamin tests.

You can do the fingerprick test at home, both offer clinics or home phlebotomy for venous blood draw.

Don't do FT3 on it's own, it needs to be done with TSH and FT4 from the same blood draw.

Many thanks for the info Susie! I've ordered the cortisol test from Regenerus and the thyroid test from Medichecks, lucky that it's Thursday as special offer on tests today too!
