Got a date to take clips out!!

After pushing my surgeon to take the surgical clips out of my neck after my thyroidectomy for thyroid cancer in 2017. This is because I am in constant pain and stabing pains in my neck. I have been giving a date at the end of June u o take them out. Thank goodness. Hope to be pain free and off pain relief and get back to living a life.

Hello! Is there some reason your doctor left these clips in for so long? Your surgery was 2 years ago in 2017? I just want to be sure the date is correct. Normally these are removed within a week or so after surgery.

The clips are under my skin 2cm . Been told they are used to clip of vains and stop bleeding when operating and used in alot of operation. But unfortunately I can feel them.

You are right about why the clips are there - but usually they are removed much sooner. Hope you get the relief you deserve - I can’t imagine how painful they must be . All the best to you.
