I went for an ultrasound yesterday and the radiologist told me that I have a retrosternal goitre and he isn't concerned that it has anything cancerous in it but he thinks the docs will request biopsies and I'll probably be referred to a specialist. Could anyone advise in regards to treatment? He didnt seem to think that I would definitely need surgery, it depends if its impacting my breathing which it isn't. It is huge though apparently. Has anyone been in a similar position? I was surprised how much info he was willing to give. He definitely didn't have any concerns about it, but I thought you couldn't see a retrosternal goitre properly on a ultrasound?
Thanks
