I posted yesterday my son’s blood results and part of the advice was to get his vitamin D tested. He currently takes D3 1000 IU (Vitabiotics). I am looking for advice on does he need to stop them and if so for how long before getting vit D tested.
Thank you

I don't think there is any consensus on whether people should stop taking vitamin D before testing, or how long it should be stopped for. For other supplements it may be necessary to stop for a few days or a week, but it depends on the supplement concerned.
Personally I stop all supplements for a week before any blood testing.
If you take vit D either to improve former low levels, or as a maintenance dose, it seems logical to me, to test the status quo, ie to see what effect supplementing is having/is the dose beneficial. Therefore I don't stop taking my vit D spray before testing. Having said that, I don't know how quickly or slowly blood levels might drop in response to suspending supplementation to know if there is any material effect.
There is no need to stop supplementing, just don't take on the day of the test until after doing it.
See the video here (Vit D Test at NHS City Hospital Birmingham who do testing for the public). At the end of the video they mention common questions, one of which is whether one should stop taking Vit D before the test, the answer is there is no need to stop supplementing but don't take on the morning of the test.
