A few weeks ago my Thyroid swelled in to a goitre and I began getting heart palpitations. A blood test revealed nothing particularly out of the ordinary except my FT3 level was 3.1 which is at the lowest end of 'normal'.
Fast forward to now and I've just received my latest results from medichecks and everything is normal again except my FT3 has almost doubled to 6.1. Is this normal for a 31 year old males FT3 level to fluctuate that much? Between the first and second test I had cut out gluten and dairy from my diet as it was looking like an autoimmune issue, not sure if that kind of change is normal or the effect of the change in diet.
Many thanks.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to respond. For the first test I only have the FT3/FT4 levels:
FT3: 3.1 (range: 3.1 to 6.8)
FT4: 18 (range: 12 to 22)
Second test:
TSH: 3.25 (range: 0.25 to 4.2)
FT3: 6.1 (range: 3.1 to 6.8)
FT4: 20.1 (range: 12 to 22)
I appreciate this information isn't enough to really make any scientific judgement from, but I was main curious about how much, generally, peoples FT3 level changes day in day out.
OK, so those antibody results don't suggest Hashi's (actually, have you got the ranges mixed up, TPO - Thyroid Peroxidase is <34, TG - Thyroglobulin is <115 so I'm not sure what TPA is). However, you can have Hashi's without raised antibodies - just to complicate things more!
Your hormone levels shouldn't be that high with a TSH level near the top of the range. One would expect to see TSH probably below 1 with those FT4/FT3 results.
When this started my thyroid was quite swollen, but this has now mostly gone (not sure if because of cutting out allergens or not).
I see what you're saying about the TSH level, I hadn't really considered that it should be ramping down production at that level. More questions! Was hoping I'd cured myself with food but I guess still need to keep looking. Scan on the 20th for the lump in my throat so let's see what comes from the I guess!
How do you feel? That’s quite a substantial raise! Do you have any secrets you’re not telling us cause I’d need some of that! 😂
Great job on the diet front despite your condition maybe not being Auto immune you should keep going with it. I’d also keep testing every couple of months to see if your thyriod is spluttering. After a history of 4/5 tests and along with your symptoms you’ll have a better understanding of what’s going on. It’s a slow process and much patience’s is needed but don’t test too often because it won’t mean anything 🤗
Haha no, no secrets. Just no dairy or gluten and kelp/selenium supplements. How I feel seems to be a mixed bag. When I did the test last week I felt like I had returned to feeling not so good, so really I have no idea!
I still have a lump in my throat which is being scanned on the 20th, maybe that will shed some light.
