I finally had Free T3 tested with TSH labs. After being upped to .75 mcg Synthroid, my labs were TSH: 2.29, T4 Free: 1.3, T3 Total: 102;
HOWEVER, my T3 was at the low end of the range: 2.5. My endo dr. offered to give me more T3 but said, " Both the T3 and the higher doses of Synthroid could make your symptoms of insomnia and anxiety worse". I can't find any info on what symptoms of a low Free T3 score means. My calcium, D, etc were fine. Any thoughts?

Hi there. I’m new to this site. Is the T3 test part of a normal thyroid test. My thyroid is only slightly out of kilter so I take levathyrizine but I feel lousy and have done for a long long while. Tiredness is quite overwhelming but on every thyroid test I’m told it’s all okay. I have only just read about the T4 and T3 and the fact the lack of absorption can affect the way we feel. I also read that the T3 drug is so expensive that they NHS is having to think twice about prescripting it? I too would be interested in what the symptoms are as well bessygo.
Low T3 symptoms are hypo symptoms - fatigue, hair loss, dry skin, weight-gain, etc. That's what hypo is: low T3. But, we can't tell you if your FT3 is too low because you haven't given us the ranges.
