I've recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto's (been symptomatic for decades, but only just been diagnosed). Doctor started me on 25mcg of Levothyroxine, then we changed it to the lactose free version Teva. I have developed a pronounced ache/ pain in my thyroid since starting medication, which I have never had before in my life. This has scared me so much, I've decided to reduce even this small amount by half, and the ache is much less. So, the ache isn't as bad, but I haven't seen any improvement at all in my symptoms since I started thyroid meds in January. Is this ache normal? Is it a stage I should have just pushed through? Would love to hear your experience or suggestions. Thanks for your help, I'm new here. x

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the ache started pretty much as soon as I started taking the first lot of Levo I was prescribed (before Teva). (I have a lactose intolerance, so was switched to Teva.) The ache seems to be in response to the meds full stop, which is worrying me - I feel like I'm doing myself more harm than good taking them. Also, I'm aware that my voice seems deeper, my hair is still falling out, I'm still cold and the constipation is worse than ever. I'm wondering if I might be better on NDT? Plus, as background info - I'm already gluten and dairy free, and have stopped having soy, sugar, caffeine, yeast, alcohol, nuts, seeds, eggs, grains and nightshades since the beginning of the year in an attempt to tackle it from a dietary perspective too (I'm living on fresh air, ha ha!) Removing the gluten, dairy and eggs has been the most helpful. Thanks for your help folks x
