There are only results there, no reference ranges. For anyone to interpret your results for you then you'll need to add the ranges please.

Can see from a previous post you are on Levothyroxine

A TSH of 2.55 is too high for someone on Levothyroxine

Just testing TSH is completely inadequate too

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised or if under medicated on Levothyroxine

Ask/insist that GP tests folate, B12, ferritin and B12

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw). This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random

Official NHS guidelines saying TSH should be between 0.2 and 2.0 when on Levothyroxine

(Many of us need TSH nearer 0.2 than 2.0 to feel well)

See box

Thyroxine replacement in primary hypothyroidism

pathology.leedsth.nhs.uk/pa...

New NHS England Liothyronine guidelines November 2018 clearly state on pages 8 & 12 that TSH should be between 0.4-1.5 when treated with just Levothyroxine

Note that it says test should be in morning BEFORE taking Levothyroxine

Also to test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin

sps.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploa...

Do you Always take Levo on empty stomach and then nothing apart from water for at least an hour after.

Many take Levothyroxine early morning, on waking, but it may be more convenient and possibly more effective taken at bedtime.

verywell.com/should-i-take-...

Other medication at least 2 hours away, some like HRT, iron, calcium, vitamin D or magnesium at least four hours away from Levothyroxine

Many people find Levothyroxine brands are not interchangeable.

Once you find a brand that suits you, best to make sure to only get that one at each prescription. Watch out for brand change when dose is increased or at repeat prescription.

Many patients do NOT get on well with Teva brand of Levothyroxine. Though it is the only one for lactose intolerant patients

Hi Slowdragon

My test was a fasting test this time has not always been before !

B12 and folate do get tested , l think they were on my last post ?

Can l insist on antibody tests, l did contact medi checks today but want to ensure GP will take notice of the tests and will go private for Endio if needed ? Vit d was on the low side last time but not low enough for them to dispense tablets.

I have fluid on ankles, weight gain, muscle weakness, possible carpel tunnel as job pulling up underwear because of nerve pain around thumb area, which l feel is all down to incorrect dosage or infection some results seem high ?

in reply to

Also forgot to add that often l will have tablets from two different sources 1mg from one maker 0.25 from another l take it l should be constantly getting the same not allowing them to dispense what ever they have ?

To some extent it depends which brands

Many people react very badly to Teva, so definitely best to always refuse this unless lactose intolerant

Some boxes are actually same makes just under different names

See list here

Vitamin D needs to be at least around 80nmol and around 100nmol may be better

How low was vitamin D?

Are you now supplementing vitamin D and how much

You need to retest, ideally twice yearly until you work out what dose you need

NHS postal kit £29

vitamindtest.org.uk

Request 25mcg dose increase in Levothyroxine from GP and thyroid retesting in 6-8 weeks

in reply toSlowDragon

Hi

It was 55nmol so just with in the range according to them l did not add extra until these new results back .

Thank you all again for all your good advice

in reply to

Well just got back from GP who says that all results are fine !

No need for vit d

Won't do antibodies test and will look at private bloods if l get them but probably won't act on them 😡😡😡😡

Someone got a wall l can base my head on when l said well l don't feel well what about xyz well it's probably not your thyroid 😂😂
