Hello I have been diagnosed with a 37 nmol/L think that's right here in the UK Vitamin D level . My levels dropped from 54 nmol/L last july. Ranges here are 50- 75nmol/L
I've been advised to buy my own vitamin D which I'm ok with but as I have hashimotos and eat gluten free on medical advice I don't know what type to buy or strength .I know to buy vitamin d3 with co factors k2 and magnesium but which ones and what dose. I'm concerned to keep away from unhealthy fillers.
is there Anyway I can take natural soft gel cod liver oil caps k2 tablets or spray and have Epson salt baths maybe once or twice a week ? I'd appreciate any advise thank you.

When you've reached the recommended level then you'll need a maintenance dose to keep it there, which may be 2000iu daily, maybe more or less, maybe less in summer than winter, it's trial and error so it's recommended to retest once or twice a year to keep within the recommended range. You can do this with a private fingerprick blood spot test with an NHS lab which offers this test to the general public:
As you have Hashi's, for best absorption you could use an oral spray such as Better You but if you prefer not to have the "added extras" then there are sublingual drops, eg.
amazon.co.uk/Vitamin-D3-Liq... (I have just bought this one and will start using it in a couple of weeks when my softgels run out)
amazon.co.uk/Natures-Answer... (one of our members has reported doing well on this one after other D3 supplements didn't help much)
For K2-MK7 then Vitabay do sublingual drops (I use these)
For K2, it's said that 90-100mcg is enough for up to 10,000iu D3.
Cod liver oil tends to contain high amounts of Vit A, and as that is a fat soluble vitamin it can build up to toxicity level so it might be worth taking that into consideration.
Some people find that regular epsom salt baths provide enough magnesium, or there are magnesium oil sprays and cream for topical use. Some magnesium comes in powder form with no extra added ingredients, I use Natural Calm magnesium citrate which contains just that and nothing else. Not every needs magnesium citrate as it can have a laxative effect.
