Assuming you are referring to myxoedema crisis rather than oedema/swelling, it isn't so much a case of how high would the TSH be, but how low are your thyroid hormones FT3 and FT4. Your pituitary gland is releasing more TSH in order to prompt your thyroid to produce more thyroid hormone but because your thyroid is dysfunctional/failing, it can't achieve that. Hence why you need to take your Levo. At the moment both your FT3 and FT4 are (just) within range indicating some thyroid function but how long this will persist, is an unknown factor; and if/when it precipitates a myxoedema crisis can be affected by other factors too such as infection etc. However, as I've mentioned to you previously, myxoedema crisis is the big bang of severe hypothyroidism, and there are other invidious and invisible things going on if we have inadequate levels of FT3 that include but not exclusively, bone, cardiac and brain damage.

Hidden I think weazle was responding to my comment that infection can trigger myxoedema crisis, rather than Hashimoto's. 🙂

weazle74 Unfortunately I've not read anything that specifies the extent, nature, or duration of infection that might trigger onset of myxoedema crisis; only that in general, it can. Are you receiving appropriate treatment for your dental problem?

Regarding the autoimmune aspect of your illness, have you adopted any lifestyle changes that may improve matters for you, such as following a gluten- and/or dairy-free diet? As mentioned by abigail, you can read much about it on line from Dr Izabella Wentz for instance, and in her book Root Cause.
