Dosage of synthroid or T 4 while also takining t3 liothorine.

My dr. Is lowering my synthroid from 50 mcg to 25 mcg because TSH is too low. Here are my numbers. T4 5. 2 range 4.6-12. T-3 131 range 80-200. Free T-4 is 1,0 range is .09 to 1.8. TSH is0.06 down again from 0.19 six weeks ago. Range for TSH IS 0.27-4.20. I feel great in this dose except waking up sometimes in middle of night and aching joint pain. Since T3 added feel much better. Not sure this is right move for me. Any suggestions. Grey Goose what do you think?i am so happy to come and ask for everyone’s opinion. You all have educated me. Reducing your Levo will not affect your TSH because you are taking T3.

Taking T3 lowers, even suppresses TSH, that's just what it does. If your doctor is prescribing T3 then he should know this.

Your FT4 is currently only just in range, lowering your Levo will most likely take it below range and you may feel worse for that.

T-3 131 range 80-200

That is Total T3. You need Free T3 testing to know what amount of unbound T3 is available to get into your cells.

You are 100% correct. USA DOCS feel like UK DOCS. Surpressed TSH is dangerous. I even told him not to do TSH alone but a full panel. He agreed. TSH is a useless test. Thanks for confirming what I already thought. Going to read him the riot act again. This time I’m done
