My pharmacy sometimes gives me Mercury Pharma and sometimes Teva. Some posts say they prefer Mercury Pharma but the ingredients look very similar to me! I'm confused🤔

Mercury or Teva ?

Ritwa, Everyone is an individual and what suits one doesn't necessarily suit another. Some people don't do well on particular levothyroxine brands and need to stick with the same one every time, others can take any brand and be just fine. Have you noticed any difference in how you are on either brand? If you think you have a negative reaction to a particular brand, then you should tell your pharmacist to make a note not to dispense you that brand in future.

They may be similar but they're not the same.
Mercury Pharma
Anhydrous Levothyroxine Sodium, Sodium Citrate, Lactose, Maize Starch, Acacia Powder, Magnesium Stearate.
Teva
Levothyroxine Sodium, Maize Starch, Mannitol (E421), Microcrystalline Cellulose, Sodium Citrate, Acacia, Magnesium Stearate
The main difference, and what can cause problems for some members, is that Teva is lactose free and they use Mannitol instead.
