If you give us some more information we may be able to help.

How long have you been diagnosed hypothyroid?

How long have you been prescribed Levothyroxine?

Which brand of Levothyroxine?

Has your brand changed recently? If so did these side effects coincide with the change of brand?

You may be reacting to one of the fillers in the tablet. If you are in the UK there is one particular brand causing adverse reaction/side effects in many people.

That's strange, because we can buy T3 without prescription from a supplier in Greece and they also supply Levothyroxine - brand Unipharma.

Have you spoken to your doctor about the reaction you are having to Euthyrox? If not then you should, your doctor will have to find you an alternative. You need your thyroid hormone replacement so your doctor will have to deal with this.

Do you know how Hashimoto's affects the patient? That they can swing from hypo to "hyper" and back to hypo. These swings will cause fluctuations in symptoms.

What was your Vit D result and what is your doctor doing about it?

If you post test results, can you please also post the reference ranges and they vary from lab to lab, country to country, etc.

What is the unit of measurement - nmol/L or ng/ml?

What is your doctor doing about it - has he given you a prescription for D3?

weazle74 profile image
weazle74 in reply toSeasideSusie

i take orall sray 50iu

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply toweazle74

I can't comment on the amount of Vit D you take unless you tell me what the unit of measurement is - is it 8.8nmol/L or 8.8ng/ml.

If it is 8.8nmol/L you are severely deficient and your doctor should be prescribing loading doses of D3.

If it is 8.8ng/ml you need to take 5,300iu D3 daily.

When taking D3 you also need it's important cofactors as recommended by the Vit D Council -

vitamindcouncil.org/about-v...

D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems such as hardening of the arteries, kidney stones, etc.

D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds if taking tablets/capsules/softgels, no necessity if using an oral spray

Magnesium helps D3 to work. We need Magnesium so that the body utilises D3, it's required to convert Vit D into it's active form. So it's important we ensure we take magnesium when supplementing with D3.

Magnesium comes in different forms, check to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds if taking tablets/capsules, no necessity if using topical forms of magnesium.

naturalnews.com/046401_magn...

Check out the other cofactors too (some of which can be obtained from food).

This is in range, no problem as far as I can see.

and d normall valus are 25 .-80 mine is 8.8

Yes, you've mentioned your level is 8.8 a few times, and I've asked what is the unit of measurement. I have given advice above about how much D3 you should take depending on the unit of measurement. So dose according to the unit of measurement I've mentioned. If it's ng/ml the Vit D Council recommends what I have said above, if it is nmol/L then your doctor should prescribe loading doses totalling 300,000iu over a few weeks.

my doctor says is all in my mind and low vitamin has nothing to do with the symptoms that i get he believes is my nerves and gives me nerve pills but still i am not feeling beter i go on internet trying to find some solution as neither thyroxin or nerve pills help me so i will stop thyroxin and take vitamin d and see if my tsh goes down really ill and very confuse with thyroxin

in greece they have but not in cyprus

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply toweazle74

So discuss your adverse reaction/side effects with your doctor, he should sort this out for you and maybe have to source a different brand from somewhere if it's the brand of Levo you are reacting to.

SeasideSusie profile image
SeasideSusieRemembering in reply toweazle74

You may possibly have either have B12 deficiency or pernicious anaemia. See your doctor for further testing List any symptoms that you are experiencing from here b12deficiency.info/signs-an...

Discuss with your doctor, if s/he has ignored this result ask why. I consider that negligent.

Do not supplement with B12 or a B Complex before further testing.

Ask over on the B12 deficiency forum for further advice - state your result, unit of measurement and reference range and list any symptoms from that link - they are the experts on B12

Take note of what brand of thyroxine you’re taking. I had terrible problems with several batches of Mercury Pharma 25mc and the 50’s.

Ask your GP to specify on the prescription a different brand if possible.
