Hello ..... I'm having problems with levothyroxine 50mg gave me terrible side effects... so stopped taking... seen another doctor who prescribed Metavive 1 a granular taken for 2 weeks... but now having problems with this just found out this is a natural levo.... so i'm back to square one.....being hit with all the terrible side effects that have hit me in the last few days.. feeling very low in pain and tearful....

I have researched that TR Man thyroid from Thailand might be the way to go as it has T3... it seems that i cannot convert T4 very well just seems to back up in my system and give me grief... the levo seems to be a she devil to me..

Can anyone help me give advice any help would be so useful as i have hit rock bottom.....

Metavive also contains T3.

Mm yes but how much that could be the problem and which metavive ? As I understand there are several versions

There are different doses, I think. How much it contains, well, some people do know, but it's not widely advertised because then it would become prescription only.

Burtandmotor They offer different amounts of porcine or bovine thyroid gland, which if they were licensed drugs rather than legally classified as supplements, would be described as different doses. Therefore in that sense, taking them is no different from taking any other desiccated thyroid product, whether licensed or otherwise - you start low and increase gradually. Whether you take any of the Thai NDTs or the US licensed products you are going to get T4 and T3 - TR Man is not unique in that - and it is also inferred that Metavive, as one of the glandulars available on the market, provides the same, although as a supplement it cannot be expressly specified or quantified in the same way.

If you have your test results from when you were taking Levothyroxine, it would be helpful to post them here so that folks can better advise what might be going on. With only 50 mcg it is possible that you weren't optimally medicated and that might be the cause of your symptoms, rather than you not converting. Or to put it another way, if you aren't yet at the point of being optimally medicated with Levo you can't accurately judge from your test results whether or not you are converting T4 to T3. What led you conclude that you have a conversion problem?

Hello the last test i had done were January this year....

TSH 2.52 mIU range 0.27 - 4.20

Free Thyroxine 15.80 poi/L range 12.00 - 22.00

Free T3 5.17 poi/l range 3.10 - 6.80

Thyroglobulin Antibody 546. 00 IU/mL range 0.00 -115.00

Thyriod Peroxidase Antibodies 256 IU/mL range 0.00 -34

I was prescribed Levothyroxine both Mercury Pharma & Treva brands produced the most terrible side effects... one landed me in hospital in a terrible state then my GP told to take one 50mg every other day mmmm that did not work either gave up on him and new doc prescribed Metaveve 1 started on a low dose of 1 15mg per day for two weeks sort of ok but not feeling ok... trouble started when I increased to 2 per day which now has produced all the horrible side effects together with a pounding headache and a couple of times migraine eye disturb patterns without any pain together with nausea and heart a racing trembling in hands the list is endless I gave up taking them on last Friday.. after sobbing all day for no good reason feeling that not taking anything might be a good idea..... so I'm thinking i might be better on T3 alone

Are you aware that you have autoimmune Thyroiditis aka Hashimoto's as indicated by the two antibody results? That is most definitely going to impact how you feel. Also it's evident that you were definitely not adequately medicated at that point, and although it was possibly Teva that threw a spanner in the works and made you particularly unwell that led you to hospital, and which you should therefore avoid, it's equally possible that your general symptoms were due to not yet being on a high enough dose of Mercury Pharma. But those results do not indicate that you were converting poorly or not at all - your FT4 level was below midway in the range whilst your FT3 result was above midway. So although you were under-medicated and your levels low on that 50 mcg dose, there's nothing at that point, that indicated a conversion problem. What makes you suspect otherwise?

Hello ... yes i know about the autoimmune... but the levo made me so very ill...... yes i agree that the blood test shows i was converting but the meds reduced me to my knees... so taking more what is that going to do... i am rather frightened about all of this ///// maybe i am allergic to the fillers i have been on 3 of this levo med each time it wreaks me so now i have no idea what to do.... do i take T3 until i feel better then try NDT again i have no idea were to turn on this///

i really have hit rock bottom.... sorry to sound so down but you must know the feeling....
