It's fine.

What are you particularly worried about?

It's a food supplement, they're making that clear (as opposed to a licensed medication).

They are telling you not to use it in place of a good balanced diet - all supplements state that as far as I am aware.

They're warning pregnant women to check with their doctor before using it - very sensible.

They're telling you to check for interactions with any medication you may be taking by asking your doctor (who probably wont know anyway).

They're telling you to stop taking it if you have a reaction to it.

All normal advice

H&B give this same information on their website, for example - magnesium tablets

Advisory information:

Food supplements must not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking any medications or under medical supervision, please consult a doctor or healthcare professional before use. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if adverse reactions occur. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not use if seal under cap is broken or missing.

Thank you for explaining that to me, I was only worried because I hadn’t had this brand befor and wasn’t sure about the adverse reaction bit. I feel I walk a tight rope with my sensitivity to food and drugs so just needed to know it was Ok as I spend too much time bedbound sick as it is, so thanks again for helping me with this x

You're welcome. I hope you don't have a problem with this supplement. It looks like it's a powder so there shouldn't be any excipients, just the active ingredient. Is it magnesium citrate? If so start low and build up gradually as it can have a laxative effect.

in reply to SeasideSusie

Hi yes it’s citrate and capsules can I ask you about sanatogen high protein powder please Or shall I do a new post? Thank you

It's not something I have any knowledge of, you could make a new post but make sure you include "sanatogen high protein powder" in the title to attract the attention of anyone who might know about it.

Ok I will thank you.

In the U.S. this kind of language/disclaimers are common on all packaged food products and especially dietary supplements. We live in a very litigious, heavily regulated society.

Great advice above, but measure your level of magnesium first. Don't supplement if you don't need it. Fortunately your body will tell you if you are overdoing magnesium (you'll get diarrhea) but you should always see if you are deficient before supplementing anything.

I didn’t know that, I will check my results I had done last year thank you.
