Has anyone managed to obtain a private prescription for German T3 from their NHS endo or GP or do we have to pay out for a consultation with a private doctor. How have people got round this problem?

Appreciate feedback

Many thanks

One GP in surgery did. Head of surgery GP refused. Nice one was going to suggest to me I bought from Germany. Said thank you I just need a private script and he asked what it needed to say.

I had my NHS T3 withdrawn, so I asked my GP to write me a private prescription for Thybon Henning, which he did.

I asked one of the senior GP's in my practice to write me a private prescription. He was aware that endo had endorsed my use of T3 (bought on line from Greece before things went wrong!) My CCG won't prescribe! He wrote me a private scrip as per instructions from TUK and I then signed up to eurapon.de site and placed my order. I now have the T3, 20mcgm x 100 tablets, total cost including p&p and bank transfer fee was just under £50. Boots told me it would have cost £1000

This post code lottery has to stop as well as self funding our own meds. Do hope Lord Hunt comes up with the goods soon!

Hello, I am glad you obtained your T3 from Germany. Living here, I am just wondering what conspiracy is going on or how badly NHS officials must be negotiating the price! If it wasn‘t so sad and cruel, it were most ridiculous! Hardly to believe!

I wish you all the best.

Thanks for the good wishes. Yes, it is unbelievable that 2 years after TUK and many others brought the sky high prices to the attention of NHS/Government we are still waiting to hear why they are paying such ridiculous prices. It is even more bizarre when you learn that we (UK) are stockpiling medicines that we import by the tonne from Europe in advance of Brexit.

I tell everyone who might be able to understand/ do something about this situation. The worst thing about this whole situation is that many thousands of people are being denied T3 because it is too expensive. people have lost jobs, relationships etc and it is only the privileged who can afford to do what I did and order from Germany.

I am about to ask my GP for a second private prescription so that I can stockpile before Brexit. What a crazy world we live in, so much for equality.
