NDT without fillers?

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any NDT that doesn't have corn, gluten or lactose added?

I believe that WP Thyroid is considered to have the fewest excipients, ie Inulin and Medium Chain Triglycerides. However, it says this about the active ingredient:

Thyroid USP* (desiccated porcine thyroid)

Lactose Monohydrate (Lactose is not added to our formula but it is already present in Thyroid USP raw material as a diluent per USP (United States Pharmacopeia). Lactose is not contraindicated for individuals with allergies to dairy, as lactose is a milk sugar (vs. dairy allergies, which are caused by proteins in milk). It is, however, contraindicated for individuals with lactose intolerance. We have had many physicians reporting no side effects while using Nature-Throid with lactose intolerant patients. The amount is very small – less than 5 mg. per 1 Grain vs. 12,000 – 15,000 mg. in a typical 8 fl. oz. glass of milk.)

ps "NDT without fillers?" You can't produce a tablet without some bulking agent as there wouldn't be enough of the active ingredient to create a tablet form.

'Thyro-Gold' a bovine NDT available without prescription.

Loads of info on self medicating can be found under the Q&As section.

As it comes in capsules, it doesn't need the fillers to bind it that tablets do.

Prescription porcine NDT: 'WP Thyroid' was the one with the least fillers I could find.
