Hi, I just had a positive pregnancy test and my TSH has shot up to 8.19. I have been through a frozen embryo transfer and my fertility doctor tested before the transfer when it was 6 and increased my thyroxine dose to 150 but my TSH has still increased!
I’m obviously very worried about this and would like to increase my dose straight away. I won’t be able to speak to the doctor till Monday. Should I increase it to 175mg immediately?
Thanks in advance for any comments. I feel like this pregnancy might be doomed because of my thyroid 😕

Hi Jenbot78, sorry you haven't had any any replies. I don't know too much about pregnancy when hypothyroid, but I'll tell you as much as I do know.
Usually as soon as the pregnancy is known, dose should be increased by 25mcg.
Thyroid treatment should be more generous during pregnancy, I'm not sure which guidelines, but its said that TSH should be at the highest 2 during pregnancy.
Am I right in thinking your TSH was 6 before you got pregnant? That is a very high TSH to have while medicated, and you probably needed a few more increases at that time.
Be very careful, because being undermedicated during pregnancy is dangerous for the baby.
