I was wondering if anyone else experiences a worsening of hypo symptoms after having a blood test?
I usually do the fingerprick home kits from Blue Horizon, just one small vial, so it's not like I'm having tons of blood taken...
I find that for a prolonged time after the blood test I feel even more tired than usual, literally having to pull myself up like a lead weight to do anything... Also an ongoing virus I have (for over 2 yrs) gets worse temporarily. This time I have mild dizziness too, a new symptom (I did a blood test Tuesday morning). The increase in symptoms seems to last a few days after the blood test.
Could it be a temporary hypo increase? Or could it be some form of anaemia? I have very low B12, folate, vit D and iron is low but not terrible.
Thanks

I think stress is part of it. I've tested my cortisol a few times and it's not been too bad. I've been taking vit C the last couple of months to try and help my adrenals and that's helped with this virus too. But suddenly worsened after the blood test.
Since my last blood test 6 weeks ago I've been able to restart vitamin D spray, and B complex. I've focused on these as iron isn't as bad and my body struggles to metabolise too many things at once so I've not been taking iron.
Yes the new blood test includes thyroid and vitamins as I've made changes and want to see if it shows.
I also have chronic arsenic poisoning(!) So the stress could be making me more exhausted re this too.
Ahh thank you for the info re selenium and vit E! I'd forgotten those. I read vit B helps to clear it and thyroid hormones! So I'd started focusing on that. Turmeric can clear arsenic too but apparently you run the risk of another heavy metal poisoning (lead I think?).
I did loads of reading on this last year when I was first diagnosed (via hair mineral testing) and rice is one of the worst things for high arsenic content. Shellfish. Also wine! Especially cheap wine. Apple and pear juice . Mattresses even sometimes had/have arsenic added! And chickens were (are?) fed arsenic to fatten them up and make them slow even wool is often high in arsenic!
Oh and chocolate too, especially dark choc.
So it's everywhere...
Apparently hypothyroid people are more vulnerable to arsenic poisoning because of low thyroid hormones. But I don't know if my arsenic poisoning caused my thyroid problems, also possible.
My concern is those on a gluten/dairy free diet who replace gluten or milk with rice (so many gluten free readymade breads etc are made with rice flour).
