T3 and T4 have no interactions with vaccinations, we have these hormones in our body naturally. Some areas of Mexico are safe and some are not, best to check Home Office advice online.

Where in Mexico are you travelling to?

I go there regularly (well, as often as finances allow!) as I have family there. It's an amazing place. I've travelled quite a lot all over the country and never had an issue. In big cities and main tourist spots its easy to find people who speak English. If you however like going off the beaten track it helps to learn some key phrases and I recommend getting the Rough Guide. People are friendly, food is fantastic, oh, and there's labs everywhere! You can get a full thyroid panel really cheaply. And if you're lucky, you may even find Cynomel, as apparently it is available again (I haven't been in years, shame I was not so well versed on T3 last time I was there or I would have brought a good stash with me!).

Hi Kitten44. thank you for the reply. How are you feeling with this awful disease, I hope you are not struggling too much.. I expect like me you have good and bad days and need to be monitored? We are wanting to go to Cancun but unsure what is the best time to go. I don't like it too hot so maybe you could advise please.. Also could you suggest any decent places to stay..

keep well

Thank you

Kind regards

Bubba

As seems to happen in a number of countries, we have seen reports that some people have successfully bought Grossman Cynomel in Mexico whilst others insist a prescription is required.

I'd be careful not to make any assumptions whatsoever about its availability - with or without prescription.

Bubbatetley,

Vaccines are made for people who are healthy. Thyroid hormones are not contra indicated with vaccines but auto immunity can be.

If you have Hashimotos, your body is in a heightened reactive state (intolerances, etc . ) and you feel unwell, your immune system could be compromised.

Vaccinations are designed to elicit an immune response and a weak immune system may fail to respond appropriately, allowing the vaccine to make you ill, or even encourage a further auto immune attack.

Not what you're looking for?
