I have been taking mercuryPharma levothyroxine and my pharmacist just filled my prescription with wockhardt. Does anyone know why this would have happened and if they have different fillers?

It's usually due to what the pharmacy can get cheapest from their supplier. Best to stick to the same brand if you do well on it. You can always check what's in your pharmacy bag before you leave, if you don't want that brand then hand it back, if they can't get the brand you want ask for your prescription back and go elsewhere. Once you leave the shop they wont accept it back.

You can find a list of ingredients for all brands in this document from ThyroidUK's website

I had a similar problem (not with Mercury but I cant remember the name) and my pharmacy said I cant insist on a brand as its generic and neither can your doctor. I went back to my doctor who said thats what they think. Printed me out a fresh prescribtion and hand wrote wockhart only. Later on I moved and hada new doctor who suggested I change to Synthyroid which seems to work for me. Keep experimenting(doctor permitting) as everyone is different. Hope this helps.

I can only take Wockhardt which I discovered through trial and error. Of all the brands Wockhardt has the least amount of fillers (or excipients, as my pharmacist calls them). When I went to get my latest prescription I was given Mercury Pharma and the pharmacist told me each time he clicked on Wockhardt the ordering system took him straight to Mercury Pharma instead. As I was running out I took two weeks' worth of the substitute to try. I'm a week into them and starting to notice they don't suit me.

I phoned Wockhardt to see if there was a manufacturing or distribution issue and got the following explanation: There is no issue with manufacturing. Re distribution, AAH wholesalers only buy whatever's cheapest at the time and this is what they send out to the pharmacies they supply (which includes Lloyds and Boots). The pharmacist has no option to specify brand. Sangers wholesalers buy their 25mcg from Wockhardt so pharmacies who buy in from Sangers will usually supply that brand. These include Kamsons and Paydens. I've yet to confirm this but I will be taking my next prescription to a pharmacy supplied by Sangers to see if this is the case.

I floud wockhardt were the best. I used to collect my orescription from the GPZ and phone round the pharmacies to see which one had got the brand in stock, then take my prescription there.

I was allergic to the fillers in Wockhardt. Made me really itchy. Reported on yellow card system. In the summer, I was bitten by horseflies, which were really itchy, bought cetirizine from Aldi and was itching all over not just where the bites were. You guessed it, they were made by Wockhardt! Reported that too. Everyone reacts differently, so I would try them and see how you go. I can't tolerate either Wockhardt or Teva, so I insist on Mercury Pharma which I can tolerate. Good luck/
