Morning all just wondered if anyone could tell me the best type and brand of supplements are best for underactive thyroid .Would appreciate the advice .

There are no general supplements that would benefit every hypo patient, vitamin supplements are specific to the individual. As SlowDragon has said, you need full testing first and then once you know where your levels lie you can see what needs supplementing.

When you have results for the following, please post them on the forum, include their reference ranges, and we can make helpful suggestions:

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

If a GP agrees to test key nutrients and deficiencies are found they are obliged to treat deficiencies until they come into range. Once in range they may or may not continue to prescribe, they are not obliged to. This is why many people do private tests and buy their own supplements to get their levels up to optimal.
