What now?

Hi guys, thanks to everyone who replied to my post a while back. Following my last post, I requested blood tests from the gp for folate, vitamin d and b12. Results came back as shown in the photo attached.

They have now ran a TFT, a parathyroid test and calcium test. All of which came back normal.

Based on my low folate and borderline vitamin D I have been supplementing folate and vitamin D for a month with no sign of improvement. Symptoms are still the same, ie. tiredness, fatigue, extreme lack of concentration, dizziness, anxiety, twitchiness. GP told me that low folate wouldn’t really cause symptoms and even if it did I would generally feel better really soon after supplementing.

Clearly not a thyroid issue either but I feel you guys have a bit of knowledge about lots of stuff. Really confused now as to what could cause these symptoms

Apologies for the photo quality, it seemed fine before posting

You can't say it's clearly not a thyroid problem because you haven't had all the thyroid tests. There's no FT3 and no antibodies - TPO and Tg. You cannot rule out thyroid until they have been done.

Thanks for the reply. See I did mention that to the doc but was told everything else would be fine as my TSH and T4 were normal

Yes, but you can't take your doctor's word for it, because he doesn't really know anything about it - none of them do. And, what he's said, there, is 100% BS! The antibodies could still be high, meaning that he has Hashi's, even with an in-range TSH, just depends what stage the Hashi's is in. TSH reacts very slowly, which is one of the reasons it isn't a good test on its own. And, given that your FT4 is on the low-side, your TSH obviously isn't reacting very well. It could possibly be that you have a pituitary problem, rather than a thyroid problem. But, you won't have a clue unless the FT3 is tested. GPs are so ignorant!
