Hi. Needing some help on Thyroid. For the last 6 months...no matter what thyroid med dose I take...my FT3 stays at the very top of the range. 4.1 to 4.3 (2.2-4.2) My FT4 stays at around 3/4 range 1.55 (.80-1.90) and my T4 toward the top as well 9.2 (4.5-10.5). The only thing that fluctuates is my TSH...higher dose...lower TSH...lower dose...higher TSH. I'm having hypo symptoms for some reason All other values stay the same and don't fluctuate with TSH and dose. My RT3 was 15.9 (9-27) I have been battling EBV (mono) for the last 6 mos as well. Before this...at 1 grain armour...my TSH was at .5...FT3 around 3.5 (2.2-4.2) FT4 about midway and T4 about 3/4. My Thyroid Peroxidase AB is always 1 (<9). I only sleep a few hours at night waking not in a sweat...but hot...mid morning I am cold...this is after taking my meds. I do get maybe 4 or 5 if I take a xanax before bed. I end up taking a long nap in the afternoon. Any help would be appreciated

EBV may well be causing problems

When were vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin last tested?
Often too low when hypothyroid and need regular testing and often regular supplementing to maintain levels
Just to rule out the simplest possibility, are you taking biotin either alone or in a B complex or multi Vit, that might be interfering in the assay method and skewing your results?
Hi and Thanks. I'm taking 1 mg B6 2mg b12 and 5500 mcg folate per day. 25,000iu d3 every other day. I just did bloodwork this morning for ferritin and iron. i had no problems till the EBV
That's a pity, it would have been great to have a quick fix. I'm no expert on EBV for sure, but wouldn't you generally expect high thyroid antibodies, falling FT4 and FT3 levels, and correct TSH:thyroid hormone interaction, if it was EVB at the heart of your odd results? I hope someone can identify for you, what might be going on.
If your levels are good on 1 grain, why are you no longer on that dose? Also could you try taking meds at night to see if it helps with the sleep issue or morning if you're already taking them at night?
Because for some reason....my FT3 (on that dose for a year) went from around 3.5 to right over the top range 4.3...my T4 went from 3/4 to near the top...and my FT3 went from about half to 3/4. was very odd and these levels did not change with dose change over the last 6 months....only my TSH did. I can only think has something to do with the EBV because it happened right when I was exposed.
On a happier note. I did labs yesterday and my results are moving towards normal for med dose. I am also feeling better...hopefully on the tail end of the mono.
