Hi just received my larest blood results from earlier this week. Im on 50mcg levothyroxine been for 2 months.
Tsh 1.3 (0.4-5.4)
T4 13.3 (9-20)
T3 4.1 (2.67-5.8)
My t4 hasnt improved at all same as 3 months ago. T3 has gone from 3 to 4.1. Tsh was 2.7. So an improvement but strange no change in t4? I presume it would now be safe to go to 75mcg?
Any advice appreciated thank you xx

Possible that taking 50 mcg levo has reduced your thyroid's output slightly, and that's why there's no rise in level. But, you're converting well, and that's a blessing, because the FT3 is the most important number.
Yes, it would be a good idea to go up to 75 mcg, now.
I have looked on your Profile but there's no information about your journey with hypothyrodism, i.e. when diagnosed - with what? The aim for TSH is 1 or lower
Your T4 is low and should be nearer the upper part of the level. You need an increase in dose.
Do you allow a 24 hour gap between your dose of levo and the test and take it afterwrds?
My journey has been a rough one over the past 7 years of battling with many gp's and endos all refusing to help me because my tsh was never high enough despite all private tests showing low t4 and very low t3. I have tried self medicating a few times but always got scared because i was bawled at by my gp and told what i was doing was dangerous. Last year i felt even worse and t3 was down to 3. I found a private doc via thyroid uk and he agreed i needed thyroid hormones. I was diagnosed as a child but couldn't swollow the tablets so no one bothered. Most of my life has been hypothyroid symptoms. My sister is hypo on levo and my grandmother had pernisious anemia and hypothyroidism. Luckily i have no other health problems and no other medication. Im also on natural progesterone by private prescription. Yes i waited 24 hours before my blood test.
Copy and paste the above into your Profile for members to refer too in future. You've had an awful journey and that is because nowadays doctors don't know any clinical symptoms. Previously we were diagnosed upon our symptoms alone and given a trial of NDT. Natural Dessicated Thyroid Hormones are the very original replacements and contain T4. T3, T2, T1 and calcitonin and made from pigs'/cows' thyroid glands.
Your doctor should have been retesting you every 6-8 weeks until you are on the dose that is correct for your. 50 mcg is just a starting dose so may not make much difference to you or your results. There is a lower starter dose of 25 which I was started on but now it's generally only given to those who are elderly or have a known heart problem. Then we are re tested after 6-8 weeks as it takes each new dose 6 weeks to get fully into our body and then repeated until we are well. So your docto should have been telling you this.
You can always post your results here for help and advice but always post the ranges as well as they differ from lab to lab so without them we can only guess if we there way out so not much use.
Has your doctor tested Vit D, folate , B12 and ferritin? These help your thyroid to work better but are often low in Thyroid people and the need to be optimal and not just in range.
I recently moved to the orkney islands. Things are even worse up here. The lab values are lower but same measurement if you know what i mean. So many ill people because we are so far north low vit d, low thyroid so many been told they have ME or fibromyalgia. Its disgraceful. This is what drove me to go private I had enough of never feeling well always in pain. I tried a few private Scottish doctors no use at all I had to find a German one to get any sense. Im also taking German levothyroxine. I hope that once i get my levels right i can feel good again. I have a bluehorizon thyroid 11 done every 6 months to check everything. The surgery here seem ok with me asking for thyroid bloods but i have got to request t4 and t3 otherwise its only tsh. Thank you all for the advice xx
