Been on 15mg of Carbi and 30mg Propranalol daily for a month and most recent result is T4 down from 21 to 14 range 8 to 14 T3 normal TSH static at 0'005 range 0'57 To 3.6 but also AB level very high at 75 range 0 to 9 everything else okay .Not feeling much better at all but does this prove the Carbi is working and the specialist saying before latest results based on my symptoms and previous results that it looks like Graves not due to see him again for a month

Was your FT4 21 when you were diagnosed? That doesn't look high enough to be Grave's. Which antibodies were tested, what's the name? TRAB or PTO?

Specialist did say T4 not that high has seen 50 before and my symptoms are disproportionate to my results .AB result just says Ab level blood is 75.4 U/ml range 0 to 9 DSS 4048

Then I think you should ask your doctor for the name of the antibody. That is not good enough. You need to know.

Symptoms are very often disproportionate to results. Whether you're hypo or hyper. This is because thyroid hormone is not distributed evenly throughout the body. You cannot judge how a person feels by the level of his thyroid hormones. Some people with under-range FT3 claim to have no symptoms at all. It's a very individual thing. And, everyone's tolerance to pain is different. I think it's very dangerous to try and judge the severity of someone illness by his symptoms.

Hi there riley it takes a long time for you to feel better even with carbi, it takes around a good 6-8 weeks to feel a slight bit of difference, each dose change takes between 4-6 weeks for a difference and you will probalby have lots of titration doses.

Ive had a very long journey over 17 months and are now coming off carbimazole as its hindering my progress and time is up to see what my body does. Its such a rollercoaster of a disease with many symptons and i know ive felt very ill for such a long time, 17months later still not back at work but ive had alot of problems with mine due to having hashis aswell as iron def aneamia...one year on and finally getting iv infusions on 3rd january....yippee.

Nothing happens quickly with the thyroid and its all about ups and downs and getting the right amount of meds to balance you out and thats a job in itself.

Please gain knowledge from this site and learn everything you can about your disease as you need knowledge as most gps know very little and endos well thats another story!! The lovely people here are great and seen me through some very miserable frightening times, including greygoose( lol i call her professor greygoose😊) i hope you feel better in near future and keep up regular monthly bloods, i wish you luck.x
