All I can offer is this link : patients-association.org.uk.... Hope this helps.
Ask for your medical notes. You may find they dont want to give them to you, but they are yours, and they have to (with a few rare exeptions). Sometimes they make very interesting reading as they show how the GP is thinking, which can be completely at odds as to what they say to you. It will also show you your results which are always handy, and may give you more facts for your complaint.
Thank you serenfach . I don't know if you saw my post with pictures of my ankle four weeks ago . I saw the Practice Manager and she said there would be a partners meeting to discuss my complaint .
Fast forward to this morning and a letter that basically says the treatment was right and denying at responsibility .
As the Americans say , go figure . Thanks for your advice Pp
I ended up on life support after a simple operation. It was found to be my fault as "you made your arteries go into spasm while under general anaesthetic". I have tried since fully awake and cannot do it! Yup, you cannot win!
O M G you couldn't make it up could you ! I hope you're ok now , well as ok as a thyroidy can be Pp
It was the overdose of iodine in a scan just before the op that sent my thyroid into decline, but as I cannot prove it.... (the scan pics were in the file but the notes about it "got lost".
Am I bitter and twisted about it? Hmmm, I think I was bitter and twisted before the op!
Alan Gardner sent me this which I think applies to GPs as well as hospitals: P . A. L . S . stands for the '' patient advice liason service '' and should be your first port of call for ANY complaint or complement within that particular hospital ... and is open to ALL PATIENTS/USERS of that hospital
Hi , does that apply to GP surgeries also ? .Pp
Hi Pinkpeony, I think so, as I said at the start of my reply about PALS, but I don't know for sure. I sorted out my problem with my GP myself in the end so did not need to explore PALS. You could try searching online for the answer, and, failing that, see if Alan Gardner is still available on here.
Best of luck
