Hi all ive been on a trial of 50mcg for 2week now.i felt great at 1st but now seem to be going backwards.not feeling good.getting tired at night coming over rough all of a sudden ..feeling sick ..slight headaches etc... I feel like im going backwards...is this kind of thing normal to start.. ???

Hi there, yes it is not unusual. This is what is probably happening: your brain is responding to the increased synthetic hormones in your system, by decreasing the thyroid stimulating hormone, thus reducing output from your thyroid gland. So you feel worse. You will hopefully start to feel better when your dose is increased. 50 mcg is a very low dose. If you want to post your most recent blood results, plus the ranges (the numbers in brackets) in a new post, you will get some advice about what might be going on.
Hi there thanks for that.. that does make sense. Ive not have 1st blood tests done yet from taking levo.. only the original before going on the trial.the guys on here said my thyroid was struggling ...im having bloods done in a weeks time i think..but also thinking of having a full bloods screning through medicheck..
Blood tests should be 6 weeks after starting Levo or a change in dose. It takes 6 weeks for the full effects. Testing any sooner is a waste of time.
Hi susie... My gp wants to do a 1st test in 3weeks.. i did say can i have it in 6weeks he just said if its not enough levo you will feel crsp for another 3weeks...and to be honest hes on board with helping me so far so i dont want to piss him off lol
Felt better with T3 now back to square one.
