Anyone done the Thyroid Check UltraVit finger-prick test?

I was going to order this test, but it says it's not recommended to use the finger-prick method. Has anyone done this? How many containers do you have to fill? I have done a finger-prick test before which I found quite easy, but I only had to fill one container. Thank you.

You can do it by fingerprick. It contains 2 x microtainers, each requiring 0.8ml of blood.

If you haven't already ordered it, and you're worried about filling 2 x microtainers, then consider the Blue Horizon Thyroid Check Plus Eleven. Very similar, the only difference is that it does Serum B12 whereas Medichecks does Active B12, and Blue Horizon includes Total T4. I did the Blue Horizon on a couple of weeks ago and it requires only 1 x microtainer and all tests were carried out successfully.

Do you have to pay postage for Blue Horizon, when sending the sample back?

A return envelope with standard first class postage is included in the kit.

They do, however, recommend sending by special delivery to arrive next day.

When ordering the kit, you have the option to purchase "Guaranteed Delivery by 1pm Next Day". I always do this to avoid any delays with the post. If you purchase that option from Blue Horizon when ordering, they include the appropriate return envelope and you hand it over at the post office counter and obtain a receipt. The extra cost when ordering this service from Blue Horizon is (I think) £4.90. If you didn't order it when buying the kit from BH and just paid for this service at the post office when returning the kit, it would be £6.50.

You want the blood samples to arrive at the lab no later than Thursday when there will be staff to process it. There is no point in it arriving at the weekend and sitting waiting untested. So don't do the test any later than Wednesday morning around 8am - 8.30am (ish), assuming you use guaranteed next day delivery by 1pm.

I can’t get enough blood out for the finger prick tests so have to pay for a blood draw which is £20 at my GP. If I am having an NHS blood test anyway they will usually just stick the extra vial on and I don’t have to pay. Some people have no problems with finger prick testing though.
